3.0         Procedure

 

3.1       Insole Attaching

 

3.1.1   Lasting Supervisor received the lasting program (PRD/04/505) from the production manager

 

3.1.2   Insole attacher Select correct size of last and insole. Attach insole on the last by hand.

                                                                                                                   

3.2       Upper Preparation

 

3.2.1   Uppers are kept in the holding area size wise covered with moist jute begs for moisturising.

 

3.2.1     Apply toluene on the toe puff & forward it for toe & counter edge stitching.

 

3.3       Counter Forming

 

3.3.1   Check the machine is working properly.

 

3.3.2   Adjust the required temperature that is 200°c to 270°c.

 

3.3.3   Put the upper on back part mould for counter forming. Press the foot paddle and release the upper after few seconds. Upper forwarded for the forepart vamp lasting.

 

 

3.4       Vamp Lasting

 

3.4.1   Clean machine properly before starting work.

 

3.4.2   Laster turns on the machine heater; heating temperature required is 200-275 °c. At the same time laster also turns on the steam heater.

 

3.4.3     When heating temperature reach at the required heating point laster turns on the lasting machine.

 

3.4.4     Lasting helper applies last release agent on the last, (which help for de-lasting).

 

3.4.5     Laster keeps uppers in the steam for about 1-2 minute, after giving steam to the upper, he place the upper on the same size of  last,  once pincers hold the upper properly he operate foot padel for vamp lasting.

           

3.4.6   Laster checks that vamp lasting is done properly, place the lasted boot on the conveyer for next process.

 

3.5       Toe Nailing

                       

3.5.1   Toe nailing is done in lasting allowance area, where upper is not fixed properly by adhesive to the insole.

 

3.5.2   After toe nailing nailer place the boot on conveyer for next process.

 

3.6       Cementing

 

3.6.1   Apply cemented on lasting allowance are and insole for proper pasting.

3.6.2   After cementing boots are kept in trolley and forward for the seat lasting.

 

 

 

 

            3.7       Seat Lasting

 

3.7.1   Vamp lasted boot is set on the holding clamp and operate foot paddle. After checking that seat lasting is proper, laster places the boot on the conveyer or trolley.

 

 

                3.8       Hammering & Full Nailing

 

3.8.1   Hammererhammered on the toe cap and counter to retain proper shape of toe cap and counter. In case if any boot received which having any defect such as the lasting is not correct, or shape is not good these boots are forwarded for rework. These boots are kept in trolley.

 

3.8.2   After hammering, nailer sets the boot on the holding clamp for nailing all around the lasting allowance area.

 

            3.9       Pounding

           

3.9.1   Pounder applies some oil on the toe cap and counter area where wrinkles are appeared during lasting. After applying oil, pounder carefully places the boot on the pounding roller. Pounding is take place on both toe cap and counter.

 

                        3.9.2   After removing wrinkles pounder place the boot on conveyer.

 

            3.10    Roughing    

                       

3.10.1Rougher is rough the lasting allowance area of the boot and place the boot on the conveyer.

 

            3.11    De-Lasting

           

3.11.1De laster sets boot on the holding clamp, removes insole tacks. 

 

3.11.2De laster applies hand pressure on the forepart area, and removes the last carefully.

 

3.11.3  De laster keeps De lasted boot size wise in the trolley and last size wise in the small trolley.

 

3.11.4  In case of IMS (Injection moulded boot) de-lasting will be done after moulding.
